Throughout these terms, “we” and “us” means the trader above, and “you” means the person using the site or buying a tide sheet. Buying from us means you agree to these terms as they stand on the day you order.

The free tide tables

The seven-day high water tables are free to read, with no account and no conditions attached. You may look at them as often as you like and quote a time to a friend. You may not scrape the site in bulk, republish the tables as your own, or resell them.

The same seven days are also available as a printable PDF sheet, free, through the same purchase page as the paid periods below — no card, no account, and no email address collected. We aim to keep the site up and current, but it is a free service — we do not promise uninterrupted availability, and we may change or withdraw any part of it.

What you can buy

One product, five lengths, for one location you choose at checkout. Every length after the free week is a one-off payment — not a subscription — for tide times starting on a date you pick, up to 30 days ahead.

Every paid length also includes two more files at no extra cost: a standard .ics calendar file (Google, Apple and Outlook all read it) and a .csv spreadsheet of the same tides, one row per high or low water. The free seven-day sheet is the PDF alone — the calendar and spreadsheet files are part of what a paid purchase buys.

All three files describe the same tides. Every high water carries the same ± window the free table states — no bare minute claiming more precision than the prediction has — and the height of the tide at our reference port. Low water and other locations are not included. The printed sheets omit the ± figure itself (a decision about paper, not about accuracy: the window still applies to every time on them); the calendar and spreadsheet state it explicitly.

  Not a subscription. Nothing renews, nothing recurs, and we do not store your card.

• Yours to keep

  Download it, and it works offline for the period it covers.

• Honest accuracy

  Every high water carries the same ± window as the free table — no false precision.

The files are licensed to you for your own personal use, including within your household. You may copy them onto your own devices. You may not sell them, publish them, or distribute them to other people.

Ordering and payment

For a paid length, you choose a location, a length and a start date, press Continue to payment, and pay through Stripe’s embedded checkout. Stripe is our payment processor: your card details go to Stripe and never touch this site. A contract between us is formed when your payment is confirmed and we issue your download link. The free seven-day sheet does not go through Stripe at all — there is no payment to make and no card details are ever asked for.

We may decline or cancel an order — for example if payment fails, if the transaction is flagged as fraudulent, or if a price has been displayed wrongly through an obvious error. If we cancel after taking payment, you get a full refund.

Delivery

Delivery is immediate. As soon as your payment clears, a download page appears listing your PDF, calendar and spreadsheet files. The free sheet downloads the same way, straight away, with nothing to wait for.

Save the link before you close the tab. We do not currently email it to you — the link on the confirmation page is how you get your files.

Lost it? Write to ahoy@norfolktidetimes.co.uk from the address you bought with and we will reissue it. No charge.

Cancellations and refunds

Your 14-day right, and why you give it up

Because you buy online without meeting us, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 normally give you 14 days to cancel and get your money back, no reason needed. Digital content delivered straight away is the exception, and it is the exception that applies here.

Before you pay for a length longer than the free week, you tick a box that says:

“I want my files immediately and I understand I lose my 14-day right to cancel once they’re delivered.”

That tick does two jobs at once, as regulation 37(1) requires. It is your express consent for us to begin delivery inside the 14-day cancellation period, and it is your acknowledgement that you lose the right to cancel once delivery has begun. We record it against your order.

So, plainly: once your download page has been issued, the 14-day cancellation right is gone. If you would rather keep it, do not tick the box — but we cannot deliver the files until you do, because delivery is the thing that extinguishes the right.

If it does not work, we fix it or refund you

Losing the cancellation right does not touch your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015: the files must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described. If they are not, you are entitled to a repair, a replacement, or a price reduction.

In practice we go further, and we do not argue about it. If a file will not download, will not open or import, has the wrong location or period in it, or is plainly broken, email ahoy@norfolktidetimes.co.uk and tell us what happened. We will fix it, and if we cannot fix it we will refund you in full. Refunds go back to the card you paid with, through Stripe, normally within five working days.

What we will not refund is a change of mind about working files you have already downloaded — that is the trade the tick box makes explicit.

If we correct an offset after you’ve bought

The timing offset behind a location can be recalibrated — our methodology page explains how and why, and every change is dated in our public offset changelog. If that happens after you’ve bought a sheet or calendar covering the affected dates, we will reissue it with the corrected numbers free of charge, for as long as you ask — this is not time-limited the way the download link’s expiry is.

We do not proactively notify you when this happens. We do not collect an email address at checkout to contact you with, and we have no reliable way to reach past buyers. If you want to know whether your location’s offset has changed since you bought, check the changelog or email us and ask — we will tell you plainly, and reissue if it affects your dates.

Accuracy, and what this is not for

Every time on this site, on a printed sheet and in the calendar and spreadsheet files is a prediction, computed from harmonic constants with a per-location offset. It is not an observation. Real water is moved by wind, atmospheric pressure, surge, river flow and the shifting sand of this coast, and on any given day the actual high water can differ from the prediction. That is why we publish a window rather than a single minute — stated explicitly in the calendar and spreadsheet, and omitted from the printed sheets themselves as a paper legibility decision, not an accuracy one.

Not for navigation. This product is for general planning — a walk, a launch window, a day out. It is not an official tidal product, it is not approved by the UK Hydrographic Office, and it must not be used for navigation, for passage planning, for commercial or professional maritime work, or for any other safety-critical decision. For those purposes use Admiralty tide tables and official sources.

You remain responsible for your own safety and for the judgement you make on the day. Check conditions, check the weather, and give yourself margin.

Our liability

We are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for unforeseeable loss, or for loss arising because you relied on a prediction for something we have told you plainly it is not suitable for.

Except where the law does not allow it, our total liability for any claim connected with a purchase is limited to the amount you paid for it.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited — including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Those stand whatever else this page says.

The site and the files are supplied for personal use. We are not liable for business losses — lost profit, lost trade or lost opportunity — if you use them for a business.

Your data

The free sheet collects nothing — no email, no account. A paid purchase collects an email address only where Stripe’s checkout asks for one to process the payment, and very little else. The detail is in our privacy notice.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms — for a new feature, or a change in the law. The version that applies to your purchase is the one published on the day you bought, and the date at the top of this page tells you when it last changed.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Court proceedings can be brought in the courts of England and Wales; if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring them in your own courts, and the consumer protections of your home nation still apply to you.
